2)Haifa Family Court 1997: A woman requested the court to keep her partner away from their apartment, as she had become violent and was a threat to the woman and her children (ibid. 22). Referring to the Danilowitz case, the court granted her request and reasoned that the word spouse (ben zug) in the Law for Prevention of Violence in the Family included same-sex spouses (Gross 2001, 410).

3)Tel Aviv Family Court 1998: A man filed a complaint against his former partner and requested a share of the property and assets he had acquired during their relationship (Hadar 2005, 22). The court dismissed the request. The judges followed instead the former spouse who challenged the jurisdiction of the family court to hear the case, “arguing that same-sex partners are not included within the legal definitions of the terms partner and family” (ibid. 23).
